Sept. 23, Colombo: Sri Lanka Deputy Minister of Social Services & Social Welfare, Lionel Premasiri says that the government will bring an act to safeguard the rights of some 1.5 million disabled persons.
Addressing a ceremony held today at Bandaranaike International Memorial Conference Hall to mark the International Deaf People’s Day, the Minister said that the act will be brought before the end of this year.
The Minister further said that the government would provide facilities to promote the use of sign language.
