The Centre for handicapped ensures complete rehabilitation for persons with physical disabilities utilizing the following infrastructure.

Administration and Counselling Department

The recipient first visits the administration & counseling department. The administrative staff effects the registration and establishes a file for every recipient. They assess the financial status of the recipients and their family members and ensure proper counseling. Based on their requirements they refer them to the physiotherapy department for screening.

Multi Disciplinary Approach

Recipients with disabilities are assessed thoroughly by a team of Prosthetists and Physiotherapists in the physiotherapy department. The treatment plan is established here and referred to the department concerned for further action. If the person is prescribed a prosthetic device, he is sent to the measurement and casting room.

If he requires stump preparation then the patient is sent to the Physiotherapy department for exercises.

The physiotherapy department is equipped with manual exercise facilities and a trained team of physiotherapy assistants working under the supervision of a qualified expatriate Physiotherapist.

Advanced Gait Training Area

The advanced gait training area is equipped with ramp , step, sand , stone walking with different balancing equipment (Hanging Bridge, Tyres, etc.) for static and dynamic gait training.

The Prosthetic and Orthotic Department

The Prosthetic and Orthotic department comprises the following

Waiting Room: - Equipped with chairs for persons waiting for fitment of Prostheses/Orthoses.
Measurement and Casting Room: - All the measurements and casting for making Prosthetic and Orthotic devices are taken in this room.
Modification Room: -The rectifications of the plaster moulds based on biomechanical principles are done in this room.
Workshop: - All the assembling and repair work related to Prosthetic and Orthotic devices are done at the workshop.
Machine Room: - The machine room is equipped with the latest machinery used for making Prostheses and Orthoses.
Fitting Room: - After assembling components the static and dynamic alignments are done in the fitting room.

Male and Female Dormitories

We have separate male and female dormitories with a capacity for 20 patients. The accommodation and food provided to patients are free of cost during the period of treatment.
